The "upside-down street law", as I call the educational experiments that I have conducted over the course of several years, intends to challenge the assumption of the vertical monodirectionality of knowledge. How? Creating a more complex field of circulation and production of knowledge, in which the worn-out spatial metaphors of high and low culture, as well as of what is counted inside or outside the legitimate learning space, are questioned. This way of teaching law starts from an analysis of the power relations present in a certain context. It is not more than 5 years since legal clinics were founded in Italian Universities: a very recent history indeed and similar to that of other Western European countries. I will try to explain this through some data collected by an inquiry that I ran in order to have a more detailed map of this phenomena and to conjecture its future evolution. In the following paragraphs I will present the data inquiry and I will try to explain the process of establishing the Italian movement for legal education, its options and challenges. Legal clinics in Europe: for a commitment of higher education in social justice

This publication (formally an article, de facto a book) is a wide inquiry on legal clinical education in Europe. It was sponsored by and presented in European Parliament (ARDI intergroup). In the first chapter over a hundred clinical legal programs, spread in all the Union territories, are fully monitored and examined. The second chapter presents a qualitative analysis through the interviews with some protagonists of the “movement” of legal clinical education. L’inchiesta sul mercato informale dell'usato che si svolge quotidianamente nel quartiere di Palermo noto come Ballarò, prende avvio dalla contingenza paradossale che una sede del dipartimento di Giurisprudenza si affacci proprio sulla piazza di questo mercato. Cosicché nuove generazioni di professionisti del diritto si formano dove il diritto sembra latitare.
